Is it possible,if the audition will be held out side US(others country)

At the moment avex Star Search 2009 will only be in the USA. However please feel free to submit your application. If we spot talent who knows what might happen!

Could this audition possibly take place in Canada?
i don’t know if it’s possible, but can auditions be held in texas (in cities such as dallas) because most auditions usually take place around L.A., i bet many participants in dallas (texas) would like to join auditions too.
I think that coming to Dallas is a good idea (since I live here), and many other people do too.
The mainland audition(s) will be based on the amount of quality auditions from any particular area so please send us your application and get your friends in the Dallas area to apply as well.

I would like to choose singing and acting but do I have to show a video of myself acting after im done singing?
Yes, that would be great. Just let us know you will be doing both in the video.

what happens when we finish live audition and we pass do we get contracted right at the live audition or do we go to japan and have to pass there also.
do we leave next day getting result who ever pass?

We would suggest doing a little of each on your audition video. Please let us know in your video that you will be doing all three.

There is no pass or fail. You will audition and based on that some of you will be selected to go further in the process, which may or may not include a trip to audition further in Japan.
i have a question: do we have to be able to speak japanese? I’m sorry if this question was already asked.
You do not need to speak or sing in Japanese.

is it okay if we dont have printer we can write the parent permission thing and then they can just read and sign?
If you do not have a printer, may I suggest you print it at the public library? If this is still not an option you may handwrite it as long as you have a valid parental signature.

The audition location(s) outside of Honolulu will be decided based on applications so please have all your friends in NY apply. You do not need to know japanese.

How long after the announced application deadline should auditioners expect to wait for possible invitations from the avex Star Team?
When this audition process is over, would it be advised for applicants who haven’t passed this audition to try a different avex audition such as the avex Always or is it preferred that international applicants only apply through the Star Search auditions?

If you are in the US, it’s best to apply through aves Star Search, however please note this is seperate from any other avex World Audition so please feel free to apply to all of them.
so if we are auditioning for singing do we need to know japanese?
and if you pass will you be debuting in japan with a japanese language single or would we be debuting with english?
You do not need to know how to speak or sing in Japanese to audition. All the audition information is listed on the website.
is it okay to submit the video audition elsewhere besides youtube?

We would prefer youtube, but for whatever reason if you are unable to then other video services are fine.

I have a question if you are singing and dancing, does both have to be in the same video length of 1:30 minutes or could it be in two different videos both together as 1:30 minutes or each 1:30 minutes long?
Good question! please just make one video with both. If you need to go a little longer than the 1:30 to get both in don’t worry about. P{lease make sure to let us know it contains both singing and dancing when you make the video.

I’m 17 so i would need my parents permission, right?
Also I want to pursue a Japanese singing career. I sing in Japanese but I don’t speak in it fluently…Is this a problem?
Also if I were to pass the auditions would there be someone to help me become more fluent in Japanese?
Yes, you need your parent permission,
No it is not a problem if you do not speak it fluently, and yes you would be given language classes if selected.

I’m a foreigner living in Japan and since there is no Avex audition available in Japan right now (except for that ALWAYS one) I would like to apply to this one.
In the previous messages I readed that even people who doesn’t live in U.S can apply but I guess that if those persons will be taken they will need to go to Honolulu for the audition right? It’s quite expensive for people in the U.S and it is VERY expensive for those who live oversea.
So my last question is…since I’m living in Japan if I apply this audition and I happen to pass, can I do the next stages in Japan or I need to fly to Honolulu at my expenses?

Submit your audition regardless. If it is really good and we have interest in you we could arrange to meet you. It wouldnt be part of the audition per say, but our main goal is to find extrodinary talent.

I have another question: in the application form we need to choose a country of US (I didn’t see any “oversea” or “other” option) even we don’t live in there…which country should we put?
I am a little over 18.5 years of age right now. This means that I have just finished my first year of college. During the summer, I will be in the Silicon Valley area, where I live. However, come mid-September, I will be going to school in La Jolla. Will this pose a problem if I happen to pass the preliminary video audition? Thank you.

Is it alright to sing in Korean even though i dont speak it? The song i want to audition with is not japanese. Is it alright? Or is japanese prefered.
You can sing in whatever language you like.

You can enter with parental consent if you are under 18. You do not have to sing in Japanese.

All auditioners will be notified if they are selected a few weeks after the cut off period. Most likely in September. Exact dates will be on the website soon.
After you submit you audition video ( which I haven’t done yet, but plan on doing by then end of the week) how long will it take to get a response if you made it to the next round? Thanks so much & i’m super excited to audition! :)

i live in New Jersey and i was wondering if i was chosen, since New York is close to me could i go there for the audition ?
At this point in time we have not scheduled the US mainland audition locations. We are looking carefully at where the most and best submissions come from. So submit as soon as possible.
what happens if you go japan does that mean you get training in japan or do you have to compete against other people?when we do go to japan do we have to pay our own money to go japan?
If you are selected you do not have to pay anything.
when we pass the video online and get the time and place and we have school can we get more time to get there usually saturday sunday we dont have school so most people can go anytime on that day but monday to friday people have school and end around 3:oop.m what if we live far away can there be little bit more time ?

Not sure what that is? If you can only do 23 seconds thats fine. We do not expect you to buy a new camera.

but my qusetion is that i want to sing in japanese but i also want to sing in korean and mandarin chinese and well i was wondering if its all under 1:30,could i sing three different songs (one in japanese) (one in korean) (one in mandarin chinese) or will that be too much and you really won’t want to hear it?
We suggest that you pick the song that you sing the best and shows your vocal range and tone.

Hi is it a must to send it in video format cause I have a version that I recorded in a recording studio, can I send this version other than the video format one ?
We request that you shoot a video. It’s the best way for us to see and hear you sing. If you get accepted, we would love to hear your studio recordings as well.

If we can’t take quality video, would it be alright to make a youtube video with just a photo? I want to audition for acting, but I don’t have a reliable video camera or webcam.

for some reason when I’m trying to send my photo in, it keeps saying wrong file type. I looked under properties and it said that the file type was .JPG is there a difference between .jpg and .JPG?
Could it have been the size of the file? How big is your file? There is a 500KB limit.
Actually, there is a difference between .JPG and .jpg, or at least there was last year.

I feel so late because you say to put it on youtube and it’s already almost the end of july and everyone had their video by june on youtube. is it too late or can i still post a video.

There is no set amount. It’s all based on talent.
